5 Steps to Flourishing

In a rush? (Download this 1-page overview of your path to flourishing here) Read on for nourishing details. ;) 1. Know what you focus on.  How did you spend your time last week? Where was your mind? At work, home, or with friends... or off in the future or past, dwelling? Without knowing where your focus is, you cannot begin to flourish (and every attempt to make change will be an uphill struggle). 2. Start with small stuff, like your breath. You shouldn't struggle to flourish. You shouldn't feel guilty about eating cake. You should feel confident about your food, your movement, your body, and your choices. Your life should be exciting, your relationships rejuvenating, your eats delicious, your plan sustainable, and your mind peaceful. You can start today by focusing on your breath, breathing into your pelvis, and feeling your entire torso expand (instead of your shoulders rising to your ears). It's amazing how centered, grounded, and purposeful one feels with healthy breathing. 3. You should get more from doing less. At the end of the year, if you didn't exercise, diet, or try more, you should still have more confidence, peace, joy, and love for your body and life. Even when you're doing nothing, your life is positively working for you. What's even better is that if you sensibly invest in your lifestyle, you can see excellent synergistic results in your body, mind, and quality of life over the long-term. 4. Don't let wellness run your life.  Certain things are worth investing your precious time and money on. I enjoy science fiction and butter-stuffed dates. It may not directly help me lean out or contribute more service, but I love 'em. The minute your plan becomes a burden, it's time to re-evaluate your plan (not figure out how you can be perfect... this time). 5. You're not stupid. Don't act like it. Everything I share on this site centers around aggressive but sensible flourishing. That means investing in the 5-year sustainable lifestyle you love and ignoring the idiots in the health, diet, and fitness industry. A detox sounds sexy, but it's really very dumb. It means discovering what you really want and going for it, not quitting or program-jumping at the first plateau. It means recognizing that if you're a woman, you are a leader with immeasurable potential - you can cultivate lifelong health, build a delicious life (& body) you adore, use your life to help others, and avoid the deprivation plans so many use in fruitless attempts to achieve the same results. Finally, Not Acting Stupid means that you are capable of understanding these principles yourself, not jumping on every diet or exercise bandwagon that comes along. Want to learn this in person?
