‘Tis the season for Hot Chocolate!

Cold weather demands hot chocolate! Although I find this recipe very appealing, I wasn't sure about Clint's reaction. My feelings were short lived, however, when he immediately downed his cup and requested more! Even with very little sugar! SUCCESS! :) Hot Chocolate (serves 2)
  • 1 cup heavy whipping cream
  • 1 cup unsweetened almond milk (Blue Diamond brand is great)
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1 Tbsp. cocoa
  • 1/2 - 1 Tbsp. raw honey
  • cinnamon to taste
  • dash of cayenne (optional)
The key to wonderful homemade hot chocolate is to cook it slowly! Pour cream and almond milk into a saucepan over medium low heat. Whisk every few minutes until white smoke begins to steam off of the top. Add the cocoa and whisk until all of the chunks are gone (note: use the back of a spoon to flatten them against the side of the pan). Add vanilla, honey, and cinnamon and whisk until mixed. If you are feeling spicy, add a dash of cayenne to heat up your experience! It's worth it, I promise! Pour into two glasses and enjoy!
