The Key to Results

Are you getting the results you want in life, in food, in exercise, in relationships? And by results I mean steady progress over a period of weeks, months and years. If not, why not? Do you have less fat hanging around your body now than six months ago? Do you understand proper nutrition and how to fuel your body for optimal health? Are you successful at work and with your relationships? If not, why not? Do you want to experience results and success? Sure! Everyone would agree to that. But the truth is that most people either do not know how to experience success, are too lazy to experience lasting results, or simply are content in their misery. If you are reading this I know you do not belong in the latter two categories, so I want to help you experience success by teaching you how to do it!

Why Most People Fail

Most people fail to experience results in training, in dieting and in life because they fail to plan. This means good old fashioned goal-setting. Yes, with pen and paper. If you have nothing to strive towards, nothing to plan for, nothing to measure, you will fall flat on your face with every effort! How will you know what success looks like? How will you know when you are getting closer? Goal setting is a vital yet often underused tool among the general human population. Most people are content following the crowd and taking the easy way out. It is also important because I, as a trainer and coach, can spoon feed you all day long with exactly what steps you should take for x, y, z results, but until you commit to some tangible goals all of my effort is meaningless. Until you take ownership and responsibility for your life, your body and your health, nothing I (or anyone else) say or do will help... ever. This goes for dieting, gym memberships, relationship issues, and any other area of your life that is weak. If you are ready to set goals and make a difference in your life click here, here, here, and here for a step-by step resource guide. Another reason why people fail to experience results is because they fail to work their plan. Some people do indeed go through all of the hard work to set goals, make a plan and begin, yet they fail to consistently review their plan, visualize the desired results, and return to the plan when faced with hardship. I cannot tell you how often I hear that someone started Paleo but quit because they heard something negative about it, "it did not work for so-and-so", they did some "research" that said it was unhealthy, their friend told them it was unhealthy to cut out grains, or it was just to hard. I will probably step on some toes here, but every single one of the above justifications is an excuse to give up, quit, and NEVER experience life as it was meant to be experienced - full of joy, energy, vibrancy, and contentment. If you want to let everyone else determine the course your life with their excuses for obesity, poor health, misery and loneliness, go ahead. It is your life. If, however, you're ready to say goodbye to a life of misery and hello to a life of contentment, make and return to your plan when obstacles arise. Because they will arise. Guaranteed. Work your plan and let the results speak for themselves.

The Key to Results

Besides goal-setting and planning mentioned above, the key to achieving results is realizing that you have an amazing opportunity to transform your life and the lives of others! Right now you have the opportunity to totally alter the course of your future. The question is, will you take the suitcase full of money or leave it? The key to results is seizing the opportunities that present themselves instead of "letting life happen". No one can help the circumstances they were born into but you can help what you do with them now. You can help where you go in your future. If you know my past, you know I should have grown up to continue the very taxing lifestyle of a drug dealer like my biological father or a victim of domestic abuse like my biological mother. You know that no one expected me to succeed and that when I did dabble in that hard lifestyle, everyone shook their heads and said, "It's in her genes." No one was surprised because that is the norm. People grow up to become just like their parents because that is all they are used too. That is acceptable behavior, whether it is obesity, laziness, poor finances, refusing to exercise, addicted to TV, anything. But I did not grow up to continue that lifestyle and perpetuate evil. Instead, I learned how to deal with my problems, cope with conflict, and live content. Now, I appreciate every breath I am given, I strive for my full potential every day, and I am constantly (constantly) reading and learning to better myself because I know I have not arrived. I have dealt with my circumstances instead of use them as an excuse because excuse-making is easy. Results are hard and demanding. They require a commitment, something lacking in our society today. You can do this too! The truth is that you've waited long enough to experience results. Today is your day to learn about Paleo or nutrition, to start consistently exercising, to tell your spouse and kids you love them. Today is your day to alter the course of your future instead of reacting to circumstances! What will you do with your opportunity?
