Still have not figured out the video thing. Sorry that it is still sideways!
There are many options in Benton County and West Tenn. for local produce, meat and dairy. Most people are not aware or don’t know how close to home it is! Clint and I buy a CSA share from Avalon Acres (summer/winter) and barely shop at the grocery store anymore! Love it!
We live in Amish country, folks! It’s not hard to find delicious, high quality food for a great price!
Local options:
- Ulderich Blueberry Farm (Bruceton, Tenn.) – (July – September-ish) $7/gal for organic blueberries. Pick your own or they will pick them for you ($12-15/gal); I think they also grow apples/pears in the fall.
- Milan Strawberry Farm (Milan, Tenn.) – (April/May) $21/flat, I think. Delicious, picked and delivered for you.
- Avalon Acres (Hohenwald, Tenn.) – (summer/winter) 22 weeks in the summer and 10 deliveries (every other week) in the winter. Great meat and veggie CSA. I meet them at I-40 (126 exit) but they deliver to Jackson also.
- Farmer’s Market
- local Amish families on Hwy. 70 and at Huntingdon Flea Market – veggies, butter, milk, eggs, etc.
- Bulk Natural Foods
