I scream, you scream, we all scream for ICE CREAM! I sure love ice cream and this alternative is quite deceitful since you can’t even tell it’s not ice cream! No joke!

Even if you’re not totally convinced that Paleo is the elixir of life, this cheap alternative to ice cream will have you coming back for more… guaranteed!

banana ice cream with yummy cinnamon!
The texture, the taste, they way you can top it with whatever you want! What do YOU top your banana ice cream with? Comment below!
Banana Ice Cream
2 bananas, frozen
almond milk, to taste
toppings galore!
Peel and freeze bananas (tip: freeze a bunch so you can have some whenever you want!). Chop up bananas & place in blender with a bit of almond milk (~ 1/4 cup). Blend until desired consistency. Add more almond milk if needed, but not TOO MUCH! 🙂 Top with delicious items like almond butter, cinnamon, chocolate chips, raw cocoa, cocoa beans, sprinkles, nuts, berries, fruit, etc.!

  • I like to blend it with a little almond butter, blueberries, and cinnamon. Love, love, love it!

  • I am surprised to see you recommending a recipe based on bananas. Bananas are one of the starchiest foods on the planet, very high in carb and sugar. Not normally recommended on these types of diets.

    • This is very true, Zarwen, but you can’t be super-strict all of the time. You must also consider the overall impact of a food and other factors, like weather. It’s getting hot here in Tennessee and people want ice cream! Would you rather have a large dose of glucose or a large dose of high fructose corn syrup + dairy? I’ll take the glucose any day! It is also becoming more accepted that noxious grains and fructose are much more problematic than a little sugar now and then! See Kurt Harris’s blog for a more in-depth summary!
