7 Things You Should Be Doing Every Day for an Energetic, Full, Vibrant Life!

With all the conflicting nutrition, fitness, and health information out there, it’s really easy to get overwhelmed. It’s even easy to get overwhelmed with all the Paleo, primal, traditional nutrient dense real food info.

So much so that many throw their hands up before they even get started thinking, This is too hard. That’s too much. There’s no way I can do that (especially at my age).

The time is now, buttercup! No matter your age, circumstances, and resources.

Is there only a few things you can focus on every day and get phenomenal results? Double your energy, radically improve your health, and transform you body? 

YES.

That’s why I’m sharing The Summer 7 Checklist with you today. Created for private clients and Jump-Start Challenge participants, this checklist is so simple I couldn’t keep it from you.

1. Eat Real Food

No surprise here that the more whole, unprocessed foods you eat, the better, but I simply want to challenge you to breakfast today. 

  • Beginning every day with a breakfast composed of high quality protein and fat will start each and every day energized!

Ideas: Bacon & eggs, eggs & avocado, leftover salmon & guacomole, Primal Smoothies.

 

2. Train Effectively

Are you exercising consistently? Are you confident in your training plan? Does your routine keep getting the results you want in terms of confidence, strength, and fitness?

In other words, does your form of exercise support your life and allow you to do everything you want to do???

If not, it’s time for a different program.

3. SLEEP 7-9 Hours

The quickest way to shed unwanted body fat is to sleep it off. Seriously. Seven to nine hours of high quality, deep sleep will get rid of extra pudge quicker than ANY diet or exercise program.

PLUS, it will BOOST your brain power, improve cognition, and help you think clearer.

How would your day improve if you woke up every day rested and energized???

TIP: It’s so common for women to put themselves dead last all day, every day. No matter what comes up, it comes first until you’re burned out, fed up, and considering finding someway to escape your life.

When are you going to treat yourself with the same respect you treat everyone else? By showing up on time for appointments, meetings, phone calls? Nourishing YOUR body will pay off dividends to everyone you want to serve by being superwoman!

4. Actively Reduce Stress

I believe ADHD is learned. Yes, learned.

And quiet time is especially hard for those of us used to running, going, doing, and being everything to everyone else.

Here’s the truth, you’ll NEVER get the full measure of the results you want until you begin actively managing stress.

Starting small is still starting and it compounds to produce BIG results!

Here are some ideas:

  • 5 Minutes in a dark cool room just breathing deeply. Set a timer. No expectations, just quiet. 
  • Begin every morning with a glass of cool, fresh water. Name 5 things you are grateful for and feel them in your entire body!
  • Walks in the sunshine (no sunscreen!), any length.
  • What activities do you enjoy most? Now, how much time do you spend each week doing those activities??? How can you do one of those this week?

 

5. 30 Minutes of Safe Sun

Optimal vitamin D levels will change your life. While the optimal level for you may differ from the next person, at least 30 minutes of safe sun per day is the ultimate health activity.

Vitamin D is essential in healthy metabolism, gut health, immunity, cancer prevention, and healthy bones and teeth.

What is safe sun? If you burn easily, try between 8-10 am and 4-7 pm. You won’t tan significantly in 30 minutes!

Otherwise, burning is NOT the goal, just enough skin and sun exposure to synthesize appropriate levels each day! If you are extra worried about wrinkling, get a high quality broad spectrum sun screen for you hands/face.

 

6. Target Gut Health

More and more research is revealing the role of our microbiota – i.e., gut bugs – in our moods, body composition, frequency of illness, even diabetes risk.

Actively eating non-toxic foods is a great start, but if you’ve taken antibiotics before than you’ve most likely wiped out all the good guys and repopulated your gut with unhealthy levels of yeast and other microorganisms.

  • Taking a probiotic (I like Jarrow brand. Or Shaklee. Any variety) is a great place to start. WalMart, CVS, and even Costco brands don’t cut it. Nor does 90% of store- bought yogurt. 

7. Living Intentionally

How often do you complete an activity and think, If I’d just thought that through I could have gone so much better. Or, If I had ran my errands in this order, it would have been so much easier, faster, cheaper, etc.?

Thinking about your one intention for each day, meeting, conversation, and interaction is an AMAZING way to begin living the impact you desire to make in the world. It really helps you know that each and every day you are doing exactly what God wants you to do and helping the people we touch in our lives.

  • Start checking in with yourself throughout the day asking, How am I feeling right now? How can I go the extra mile in this situation? How do I want this conversation to go??? You’ll be surprised at the outcome!

      GREAT visual Jen! I’ve found that taking a daily probiotic in the evening – I am currently taking 3-4 “Saccharomyces Boulardii + MOS” capsules (by Jarrow Formulas) every evening before bed for ~8 weeks and it’s going very well!
