4 Simple Steps to Perfect Posture

Ever heard the phrase, Fake it till you make it? While I wouldn’t carry it too far, there is some truth that we begin to feel and act the way we behave. In today’s video, I share how to instantly boost confidence and respect yourself more with the 4 Part Posture Exercise.

Over the last few weeks we’ve been learning about mindset, the key to lasting results by working from the inside-out. While we begin the deep work of re-framing the way we perceive and live in life by digging into the root reasons for our current situations – the beliefs and thought patterns that drive us – it’s important to reinforce our new beliefs with physical representations.

That’s why posture is so important.

The way we carry ourselves instantly expresses to everyone we meet how we view our own self and how we will be treated. With dignity and respect or with gruffness and indifference.

Ever seen someone walk slunched over all day who won’t look you in the eye? What do you think? They have poor self-esteem, are scared to talk to people or are easily intimidated.

While it may not be true 100% of the time, it will be true most of the time. Say… 99.9%.

Unfortunately, it’s a catch-22 cycle of thoughts reinforcing behavior and behavior reinforcing thoughts. And until we change something, nothing will be different. 

On the other hand, what do you think of a neatly dressed woman entering the room carrying herself well and holding her head high? You’re drawn to her (or jealous, but we’ll save that for another post). Her obvious confidence radiates from her being.

How can we achieve that???

Simply… posture. Anyone can do this and the benefits are astounding, from improved mood to improved confidence, from alleviating back pain to instantly opening doors, from wondering why no one wants to hang out with you to immediately gaining friends.

  1. Squeeze butt.
  2. Brace abs.
  3. Pack shoulders.
  4. Tuck chin.
